FIFA World Cup 2022

Showcase: Our Top 14 Event and Exhibition Projects of 2022

As we reflect on the past year, we are proud to showcase our top fourteen projects from 2022 that we had the pleasure of being part of. From tent rental services to outdoor furniture rentals and bespoke, hand-crafted elements, our clients brought such exciting events and exhibitions to Electra Solutions. We are incredibly grateful to them for entrusting us with their vision, and we hope that our successes can bring you inspiration for your next event.

For the Middle East Rail 2022 project, Electra combined their services of event rental solutions, furniture rental, exhibition services, and in-house production and craftsmanship to make this exhibit a resounding success. With this in mind, the exhibition’s largest stand was produced and delivered, complete with a custom-made train. The sleek double-decker exhibition stand included a reception area, projection table, staircase, large screens, meeting rooms, seating area, VIP majlis, mezzanine and pantry. All tables and seating were provided through our furniture rental solutions, and custom-made backlit logos were also placed throughout to keep the brand in the visitors’ minds as they were immersed within the exhibition stand.

2. Showtime Cube on Clarence Island

Electra successfully delivered the world’s first temporary event venue, built from scratch on one of the famous World Islands, situated just off the coast of Dubai. This unique event rental was constructed for Showtime on Clarence Island. The 429 m² venue featured Electra’s innovative temporary structure The Cube, which was customised through a custom-made façade, outdoor decking and event furniture rentals. We produced all temporary structures and tent solutions for the event, which – despite being located in the middle of the sea – took our efficient team only five days to complete.

The unique venue and location provided an unforgettable experience for the 250 attendees and demonstrated our ability to deliver complex projects, hassle-free, on time and on budget.

3. Art Dubai

The GCC’s biggest art fair, Art Dubai, returned to Madinat Jumeirah for the 15th time on the 9th to the 14th March 2022. Our global exhibition management solutions, brand activation, stand building, event rental, and outdoor furniture rental all formed part of the solution for this popular event and its 30,000 visitors. An area of 3,400m2 was transformed into 115 galleries and stands, representing 40 countries between them.

4. FIFA World Cup 2022

It was a great honour to be part of the spectacular opening ceremony at the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar. We were entrusted by our client Balich Wonder Studios to build the three-part rolling stage. Raised onto FIFA regulation turf tyres, the football pitch was protected when the stage rolled out, while the stage itself was treated with anti-slip coating, with an acrylic material placed on top to allow specialist lighting effects through, and robust supports for LED lights in different forms.

To close the ceremony, two external parts of the stage seamlessly parted to reveal the central Trophy Ceremony stage. Purposefully designed to reflect the emblem of the FIFA World Cup 2022, the stage was set to conclude an historical tournament.

8. Gulfood

Our furniture rental service and exhibition solutions brought to life nearly 4,000m2 of exhibition space for the annual Gulfood event at Dubai World Trade Centre. Of the exhibition stands we delivered, our favourite installations included the 2,640m2 Italian Pavilion; 800m2 French Pavilion, and 260m2 Portuguese Pavilion, all featuring branded banners, lightboxes, and matching furniture.

9. Abu Dhabi Air Expo

Electra delivered a basic package for the Abu Dhabi Air Expo. Stands were assembled to cover an area totalling 350 square metres, with luxurious carpeting elevating the experience for guests.

Our sustainable, customisable and reusable SLIK Wall system was used for the multiple stand exhibitors throughout the show. This allowed each brand to professionally customise their stands, improving both client and guest experiences, while allowing us to uphold our sustainability pledges.

10. Dakar Rally

Electra successfully delivered custom-designed bivouacs for the 2022 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia, an event by the Gaussin Group. We supplied a comprehensive range of services, including rental of tents, furniture, and custom-made elements, all of which were tailored to meet the specific needs of the event. Our client was pleased with the services provided by Electra, particularly given the challenging weather conditions and the logistics involved in delivering the equipment to the desert location.

11. MANE at Beautyworld

Electra expertly crafted a custom-made stand for MANE at Beautyworld, showcasing our ability to bring to life even the most creative and intricate concepts. MANE always impresses the audience with their unique stands, and we were honoured to work with them once again.

The stand showcased MANE’s latest perfumery innovations. It was designed by artist Abeer Seikaly, and featured the concept “Terroir,” which blended traditional Bedouin weaving techniques with modern design elements. The large pieces were handwoven by Seikaly’s team, while Electra handled the installation and construction of the structure, which was made from wool and wooden pieces to maintain its shape. We also provided furniture and other elements such as platform, walling and graphics.

12. Cartier Ramadan

Electra worked with Memories Events in fully custom-building two spectacular Ramadan activations for Cartier at Al Khazzan Park in Dubai and in Abu Dhabi. The theme of the activations was “Al Manamas: A Journey through Culture, Authenticity, and Luxury.” The experience was designed to be an immersive suhoor experience, where guests could indulge in an atmosphere of awe, as the activation seamlessly combined the history of Al Manamas with the story of the Maison Cartier.

“Manama” is an Arabic word meaning “the place of rest”, and it is an important architectural element commonly used in the GCC during both winter and summer. Elevated from the ground, it serves as a space for gathering and relaxing. For this event, the manamas were transformed into luxurious lounges, a dining area, display space for perfumes, and a projection room.

The main structure was crafted with steel and finished with cladding of teak wood, which provided a warm and inviting ambiance. The Mashrabiya roofing was painted in a luxurious golden colour, adding a touch of elegance to the space. The walls were covered in knitted ivory cloths, which added a soft, natural feel to the space. The flooring was made from teak veneer, which complemented the wood cladding and provided a cohesive look to the entire space. The overall effect was a perfect blend of traditional and modern elements, creating an immersive and memorable experience for the guests.

13. Drager at Arabhealth 2022 for ET Global

Electra was responsible for constructing a two-story exhibit space for Drager’s services and products, including NICU, ICU, and PPE. The ground floor was 255 sqm and featured multiple spaces tailored to showcase Drager’s offerings. The first floor, measuring 100 sqm, featured a mezzanine steel structure with MDF cladding, carpeting, and a glass railing surrounding the entire area. This floor was designed to serve as VIP lounge and relaxation spaces, complete with a bar and counters.

A hidden kitchen area was also included, equipped with a sink, dishwasher, lockers, and storage room. In addition to the construction, Electra also handled all branding, AV installations such as 5 touchscreens, 5 TVs, 2 iPads and computers, lighting, truss and provided furniture rental for the event.

14. Audemars Piguet at Dubai Mall

Electra was engaged to execute a cutting-edge, immersive mall activation for Audemars Piguet at Dubai Mall, designed by Bureau Betak, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the iconic Royal Oak watch. The activation was centred around a platform and an immersive space that reflected the signature design elements of the watch.

The main platform was finished in a glossy black color and featured LED strips that provided an animated effect. The octagonal stainless steel structure that measured 4mHx3mW was silver brushed and incorporated 3mm frosted acrylic. The activation also included two glass showcases displaying luxury watches, a chrome monolith wall that featured the Audemars Piguet logo, and a digital interactive screen that provided an entertaining experience. The illuminated logo was placed on top of the middle immersive room, which showcased an outer shell made of perforated brushed steel and an inner space with faceted mirror walls, a stone-finished path, LED strips outlining the space, water features with vibrations on the sides, a roof LED screen and a screen wall that featured bespoke interior displays and audio.
