Head of Project Management (F/M)

Job Overview

Under the guidance of the Projects Director, the Head of Project Management, oversees and manages the day to day activities of the department. The Head of Project Management is responsible of coordinating the work of the project management team while providing the needed support for the success of the projects.

Main responsibilities (list is non exhaustive):

To Structure & Lead:

  • Works closely with the Projects Director on the department’s strategy and propose new ideas for the benefits of the department
  • Update and/or Implement a new project department organization in order to gain efficiency
  • Implement standard work procedures and processes (budget control, fabrication methods, build up schedules etc.)
  • Review Job roles & Job descriptions in accordance to department’s needs
  • Recruit when needed (permanent or freelancers)
  • Ensure consistent review of individual objectives & KPIs through regular performance monitoring
  • Organize the team planning & allocation of projects
  • Animate, motivate & assist the team in the day to day management of the projects
  • Be the first point of contact for any new inquiry or project ensuring technical solution is provided
  • Plan and coordinate the projects in accordance with other Head of departments (Head of Accounts, Head of Design, etc.)
  • Remain actively aware of all projects passing through the department with the ability to intervene/assist if necessary
  • Ensure the department follows standard processes, monitor projects progress including internal & external communications
  • Suggest improvement and development of practices including communication and coordination with other departments
  • Oversee projects delivery, in terms of budget, timelines and quality
  • Provides regular reporting to the Projects Director on the financial and organizational aspects of the department

To Sustain:

  • Train members based on their job role and ensure their growth and progression in the company
  • Implement quality control in accordance with projects requirements
  • Ensure overall respect of projects budget and gross margin as per the company standards
  • Proactively prepare the planning and forecast of resources ahead of time

Required skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a project manager and proven experience in Management and strategic planning
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills
